Glad everyone, including Sheila, are ok and she's back with her care taker.

On a road trip through Virginia, my sister once insisted that she saw an emu roadkill. Everyone laughed at her until a couple of miles down the road there was an emu farm.

And they're incredibly fast, erratic and unpredictable. Gladly, I've never hit one but a big roo came barrelling over a 5 metre embankment saw my car going past and put the brakes on. I saw every sinew and muscle go into reverse mode. It glanced off my passenger door and carried on it's way.

So glad the roo is fine as are the motorists. Happy ending.

Apparently, they are now closed to the public. There's a zoo nearby which allows close contact, for a fee.
