🧵 President Donald Trump said Wednesday that drug and pharmaceutical companies are "going to have to" come to the United States or face steep tariffs. (1/x)
"We are going to give them a lot of time to do it," the president said of those companies building factories in the U.S. "But after that, it's going to be a tariff wall put up, and they won't be happy about it. But they'll be happy if they start building right now." (2/x)
Trump said that "after a certain period of time," it will get tougher, "and then it's going to be real hard to do business in this country." (3/x)
The president's comments came during a White House event. While drug imports were exempted from Trump's tariffs earlier this month, he has said his administration plans to "put tariffs on the pharmaceutical companies, and they are going to all want to come back" to the U.S. (4/4)

For a supposed developer, he has little grasp of construction timelines for industrial properties.

You don't build them fast.

(69,830 posts)2. A failed developer, though. Right?
Just like he's a failed casino-owner. And a failed airline owner. And a failed liquor dealer. And a failed Steak peddler And a failed fake "University" owner. Etc, etc...
He doesn't know how to run a business. Any kind of business, from the looks of it.

(177,566 posts)3. Very true.
I've seen lots of specifications for industrial buildings and medical office buildings, though never a pharmaceutical manufacturing one. The requirements would be unusual in some respects compared with a facility that fabricates metal widgets.
