So many excuses for Dems to suck up to The Chump

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is the latest.

Either you are for stopping this descent into fascism or you are NOT.

It's not about YOUR fucking state.

It's about ALL of the United States of America at this point.

...I don't know which it is.. but New York Governor Hochul chancing that she can hold 'Congestion Pricing' together and avoiding a defiant confrontation while appearing to cajole Trump with factual progress & stand behind the legalities of Biden Admin approvals to buy more time and POSSIBLY achieve important state objectives may not have the fire of outright resistance but getting s*** done in the face of bulls roaring through the China shop is still IMPORTANT! Maintain course under fire!

Whitmer took some lumps a few weeks back with the awkward timing of her DC visit. But Selfridge looks like a DEM governor holding firm and showing important leadership and representing the interests of MICHIGANDERS. Opportunities to OWN Trump are not going to come easily but handling the business of YOUR CONSTITUENTS including the US Military at this time sounds like a good thing to represent for a DEM gov.

Look at her record of progressive legislation signed into law in one year, with a one seat majority.

She’s unapologetically, unhesitatingly progressive- not a cautious, go-slow bone in her body.

Rather than excoriating someone trying to save thousands of jobs in her own state, perhaps you should look closer at those who voted for the Laken Riley Act, those who advise inaction in order to let things fall apart in the hope it will provide an opportunity for political advantage, those who propose not pushing too hard for the return of Garcia from El Salvador, and others whose reluctance to take risks to protect the victims of this regime is just a form of passive collaboration.

He always reminded us that the Alamo was a win because the Mexicans besieged it. If they'd cut off access, food & water we'd be celebrating Cinco De Mayo in Houstonia!!

Americans, even we leftists, love the cataclysmic victory but those are rare. Let's show some love to our strategic players... some of our female Governors are showing grace under pressure and may end up as key players in how well this party regroups.

Much as I hate it, misogyny is so deeply rooted here that no woman will be able to win a Presidential election for at least a century -and maybe much longer.

MIGHT be able to blunt the usual angles of attack.... Unattractive... Weak.... Vain... Out of her depth... Whitmer is already in the soup but if she can defy Trump's jump through the hoops challenges and best him a few times she might earn the grudging respect Clinton & Harris were unable to establish with the feral masses. The meritocractic credentialism which satisfies DEMS has been blunted in the center and right. If Whitmer can show just enough deviousness to hoist Trump on his own petard if that is what she's doing and can out talk Buttigieg she could be a contender.

Whitmer is still the most effective, progressive governor currently serving.

She did more in one year with a one seat majority in the legislature than most Democratic governors with large legislative majorities get done in two terms.

Selling us out. By either giving them accolades and smiling and shaking their hands and doing speeches with the Mango Mussolini or helping pass his agenda by voting with Republicans in the Senate on CRs and Senate confirmed positions or writing serious letters, I'm tired of the excuses. Tired of watching our country torn apart and watching certain people act as if this is just minor policy differences while innocent people are literally being snatched off the street by secret police and sent to foreign torture prisons.

This has got to stop.

And if by chance we can these middle of the road corporate Democrats can eat dirt. It's going to be a MASSIVE undertaking with one single goal from the first day we have the chance. Pass every law we can to prevent this shit from ever happening again. There's no more respecting the other side or trusting them to do what's ethically right. If we have to weaponize the DOJ then do it. If we have to blow the filibuster away to get shit passed then do it. If we have to gerrymander districts back to sanity then do it. We have rested on our laurels and been riding the high road too long. Its time to fight, and fight dirty if we have to. Whatever it takes to save our country because right now, it's hanging on by the thinnest of threads.
Respectfully

There are so many people here who know exactly what to do, which, apparently, is to blog and declare their superiority.
