The FBI took Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan into custody Friday morning at the county courthouse. She has been charged with concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest and obstructing or impeding a proceeding.
In its two-page order, the court said it was acting to protect public confidence in Wisconsin courts during the criminal proceedings against Dugan. The order noted that the court was acting on its own initiative and was not responding to a request from anyone. Liberal justices control the court 4-3.
It is ordered ... that Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah C. Dugan is temporarily prohibited from exercising the powers of a circuit court judge in the state of Wisconsin, effective the date of this order and until further order of the court, the justices wrote.

More American judiciary destruction as a direct result of Mitch McConnell. The most fucked up human ever to have served as an elected official, and still there. His courts.

(11,183 posts)state they cannot get them back, ignore 9-0 and a judge cannot then weigh the dire of the situation and hide out the victim? Because this is sounding an awful lot like, would you hide a Jew during Nazi times. I always hoped I would. "They are just following orders". What person will look away at this point says the person they are.

(4,338 posts)Don't arrest people where they are complying with a legal obligation to appear.
That's unethical and undermines the court's jurisdiction over the person.
Furthermore, the feds ultimately succeeded in arresting their target. So the government's case against this judge is moot.
Big mistake to give Trump any kind of a win on this.
