https://apnews.com/article/army-parade-trump-birthday-96bb9c8e9af1ef285c56fdc3d1ba4b35WASHINGTON (AP) Detailed Army plans for a potential military parade on President Donald Trumps birthday in June call for more than 6,600 soldiers, at least 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, seven bands and possibly a couple thousand civilians, The Associated Press has learned.
The planning documents, obtained by the AP, are dated April 29 and 30 and have not been publicly released. They represent the Armys most recent blueprint for its long-planned 250th birthday festival on the National Mall and the newly added element a large military parade that Trump has long wanted but is still being discussed.
While the slides do not include any price estimates, it would likely cost tens of millions of dollars to put on a parade of that size. Costs would include the movement of military vehicles, equipment, aircraft and troops from across the country to Washington and the need to feed and house thousands of service members.
High costs halted Trumps push for a parade in his first term, and the tanks and other heavy vehicles that are part of the Armys latest plans have raised concerns from city officials about damage to roads.

Have American taxpayers ever funded a parade and celebration for a sitting President's birthday?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_2012_North_American_derecho
The June 2012 Mid-Atlantic and Midwest derecho was one of the most destructive fast-moving severe thunderstorm complexes in North American history. The progressive derecho tracked across a large section of the Midwestern United States and across the central Appalachians into the mid-Atlantic states on the afternoon and evening of June 29, 2012, and into the early morning of June 30, 2012. It resulted in a total of 22 deaths, millions of power outages across the entire affected region, and a damage total of US$2.9 billion which exceeded that of all other derecho events aside from the August 2020 Midwest derecho (estimated US$11 billion). The storm prompted the issuance of four separate severe thunderstorm watches by the Storm Prediction Center. A second storm in the late afternoon caused another watch to be issued across Iowa and Illinois.

...but what of the sordid spectacle of a five-time draft-dodger calling for a military parade--and on his birthday? And let's not forget how "Cadet Bone Spurs" spoke of fallen and disabled veterans: "suckers" and "losers"? This is the guy who should get a military parade?!

I have no problem with a big celebration for the US Army... just keep his name out of it.
