President Trumps trade policies are already starting to frustrate American consumers who have noticed higher prices in their shopping carts.

More companies are starting to warn that they will have to pass on higher costs to American consumers, raising prices for products like strollers, mattresses, power tools and cast-iron cookware as President Trumps tariffs take hold.
Some company officials said they had been left with no choice but to raise prices as they pay more to import goods and materials into the United States. Other firms have said they will soon run out of inventory for certain products because they have paused orders from China.
Stanley Black & Decker said on Wednesday that it raised prices on its tools and outdoor products last month and will raise them again later this year. The German sportswear company Adidas said this week that steeper tariffs would eventually lead to higher prices for U.S. customers.
Executives at Procter & Gamble, which makes products like Bounty paper towels and Tide detergent, said last week that the company would most likely increase prices for some products to mitigate the effects of higher tariffs. And officials at Hasbro recently said the toymaker would have to raise prices, although it would try to minimize the burden on customers.

Your Next Bathroom Upgrade Will Cost Way More Heres Why

Theres a lot of chatter in the plumbing industry about how the new steel tariffs are impacting the prices of plumbing fixtures. This viral Reddit post from a construction company estimator noted that in early May, Delta Faucet Company plans on raising prices by around 7.5% and Kohler by 15% to 18%.
In the post, he wrote that one of his supplier stated: Our company has been in business for almost 30 years and we have never seen such drastic price changes across the board in such a short amount of time.
In the posts comments, a pipefitter noted that supplier Nibco said valve prices would go up by 40%. Other contractors wrote that customers were canceling projects and pushing back start dates because of the tariffs on steel and other materials, including wood, drywall and more.
As someone who works on a daily basis with homeowners on kitchen and bath renovations, I can confirm that suppliers are already priming us for price adjustments coming in May, says interior designer Alecia Taylor. Its not just high-end shower units or faucets that are being targeted; even basic plumbing fixtures and components are being affected.

OP
Like the 1970s once prices go up they never retreat. Plus, it's a triple whammy.

Raise prices to cover the cost of the tariff.
Raise prices to cover the extra capital needed to purchase on credit the higher prices.
Raise prices to maintain profit margins on lower volume.
