“Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, thousands of high school students in Oklahoma will be required to learn about President Trump’s debunked claims that the 2020 election was tainted by fraud,” Popular Information reports.

“The lesson will not be part of a course on conspiracy theories, but an official component of the new social studies curriculum created by Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters (R).

The new curriculum includes the following: “Identify discrepancies in 2020 elections results by looking at graphs and other information, including the sudden halting of ballot-counting in select cities in key battleground states, the security risks of mail-in balloting, sudden batch dumps, an unforeseen record number of voters, and the unprecedented contradiction of ‘bellwether county’ trends.”

... “The sudden halting of ballot-counting in select cities in key battleground states.”

First, many claims about pauses in vote counting were either false or easily explained. Where vote-counting did stop, the explanation was obvious: It was late and people were tired ...

“Sudden batch dumps.”

What’s being referred to here is that, in some cities and states, batches of ballots were added to the vote count at once. In some places, those ballots shifted the running count to favor Trump over Joe Biden.

The reason those batches were added to the vote totals wasn’t because of a conspiracy, though. It’s because … big groups of valid ballots were added to the vote totals ...

It's not like they were one valedictorian's speech away from being the most academically accomplished state in the union. They want to wallow in their idiocy, I say fuckin' let 'em!

My Dad was born and raised in Oklahoma City, he couldn't get out of there fast enough. The day he turned eighteen, he joined the Air Force and split.

We fly over states like that for a reason...

But who says it will stop there? What's to keep other hardcore MAGA states from following suit? Even if it is "just" Oklahoma right now, I don't think it's likely to stay that way indefinitely.

Meanwhile, we already have a serious problem in this country with large numbers of voters being poorly or under informed. That's a big part of why we're in the pickle we're in right now as a nation. Anything that could add to that problem even more is worthy of concern, imo.
