(5,812 posts)and you can tell. Very few crisp straight lines, uneven strides distances, lots of people out of step, rifles held at different angles, band instruments also held at different angles.
Hell, my high school band was way better than this!
Look at the parades in Russia and China
they train for this and it shows.

(37,792 posts)There's a few specialized units who do that, like the Marine Drill Team, and cadet and midshipman corps at the service academies, but for typical units, after basic you'll get what was seen there: marching, not a showcase.
Ilsa
(63,046 posts)was dressed like Marines, IIRC. However, they were actually portrayed by the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets Fish Drill Team according to Texas A&M Foundation. The Fish Drill Team, comprised of freshmen cadets, is a precision drill team known for its impressive performances, according to Texas A&M Admissions.

(47,173 posts)"Bella ciao" (Italian pronunciation: [ˈbɛlla ˈtʃaːo]) is an Italian song dedicated to the partisans of the Italian resistance, who fought against the occupying troops of Nazi Germany and the collaborationist Fascist forces during the liberation of Italy.
The exact origins are not known, but it is theorized to be based on a folk song of the late 19th century, sung by female workers (mondine) of the paddy fields in Northern Italy in protest against harsh working conditions. There is little evidence of the song being used during World War II, with the current "partisan version" only becoming widespread after it ended. Versions of "Bella ciao" continue to be sung worldwide as a hymn of resistance against injustice and oppression.

There are many other variables. The horn brand, reed hardness, and individual player's technique come into play, but mouthpiece is a biggie.

(25,061 posts)Sorry. Family joke. My youngest kid is a professional trombonist. His siblings used to shout "needs more cowbell" to signal he should stop practicing and go to bed already. It was when we realized we had to beg him to stop instead of nag him to practice that we figured we had a professional musician in the house.

The one Proud Boy and protester were having an animated discussion that seemed to calm down as the musicians blasted away. Several of the PBs were rocking to the rhythm.
