I count 49 news headlines on the NYT mobile app home page right now, not including opinion, sports or cooking. None of them are about the massive protests yesterday.
It is firmly in the âsomebodyâs making an active decision to downplay thisâ territory.

(15,246 posts)The NYT was one of the 4.
Given Israel's attack on Iran, the assinations in Minnesota, the Air India crash, Trump's parade and the fact that it's over 24 hours later, that seems OK.

(103,902 posts)It has "Close Trump Allies Sponsored the Military Parade, Raising Ethical Concerns" and "President Trump's Drafted the Army into a War of Images", so they've been thinking about his parade. And it has "Protests in Europe Target Mass Tourism with Squirt Guns and Roller Bags", so it's able to think about protests (albeit a protest I'd have thought of small news value in the US). And even "Big Cheers for No. 14, Pope Leo, at the Ballpark", so it was able to think about alternative events on Saturday. But nothing about "No Kings", not even in the small sections near the bottom; including them, it's a lot more that 48 headlines in the categories given (unless a lot of the are counted as "opinion" ).
The largest combined protest in US history ought to merit a mention, you'd think.
