The next Democratic President must find a tough, independent bulldog for his Attorney General

Because Republicans have thrown our Constitution on the ground and shit on it. Especially the leader of their Party, Donald Trump. Is there ever a day goes by that he does not break a law?

He is up to his eyeballs in grifting and making money off his office. He expects the Republicans to protect all his "business ventures". He expects them to win the mid-term elections so he can continue to rob this country blind.

We do know about a lot of his deals in the Middle East, with the $400 million plane and his crypto currency projects that have the ability to launder most of the dirty money in the world. He is creating a bubble that will burst and affect the entire world economy. His criminal endeavors are historic, in scale and gall.

That is why we will need someone that is willing and able to restore justice back to our legal system. We do not need a Merrick Garland-type of Attorney General. We need someone that is willing to put people behind bars.

Whomever the next Democratic President might be, I sincerely hope that he or she is willing to tackle this monumental task.

No amount of bulldoggery can overcome obstruction by SCOTUS, only court expansion can.

With an expanded court, you could have any old milquetoast as AG and Justice could still prevail.

Killing the filibuster removes all excuses for gridlock and inaction.

Killing the filibuster shines a spotlight of accountability on every senator for every up/down vote on every bill- votes that were previously blocked by the undemocratic tool known as the filibuster.

Governor Whitmer was not afraid- with a one vote majority in the legislature, she rammed through numerous progressive bills, including codifying Roe, union rights, raising the minimum wage, and more. Those laws could be undone by a Republican governor with a Republican majority in the legislature, but they would all be held accountable by the voters.

I think more politicians are afraid of the immense pressure to act unhesitatingly and pass bills that benefit the people (and piss off their big donors) than they fear what the opposition party might do in the absence of a filibuster.

We must not be afraid to govern ruthlessly, without hesitation, in service of the people, as Whitmer has done in Michigan.
