My letter to Kevin Kiley (R) Ca Dist 3 - Re: Sale of public lands in Tahoe, etc

He hates us, and has NO backbone or integrity...BUT i figured I'd go ahead and send it. Another local in my locals FB gour suggested a mass letter with signatures and I suggested a postcard party to flood his office... so we'll see if that gains feet...

~ ~ ~

Dear Congressman, I know you are not prone to listen to us as your constituents...but I am reaching out to appeal to your better conscience.
You know our District, and that Lake Tahoe and our surrounding El Dorado National Forests are VITAL to our communities. That land is a National Treasure that WE the People paid for with taxes - for upkeep, forest conservation, and fire prevention and suppression. Not only that, but these PUBLIC ands are a generator of income for the entire region, as we bring in Millions of people each year to enjoy and experience something very rare in today's world...untouched Nature.

This is OUR land, and we, as taxpayers...and basically shareholders, refuse to allow this clearance sale of OUR assets.
If anything, choose the environment for the future of your children. We cannot continue to pillage these natursl resources at will and expect it to be ok. ...and as much as Elon will try to tell you otherwise, Mars is NOT an option.

So please, have a shred of decency and understand this is more than just land, it's lives, habitats, and tourism dollars that matter to US, YOUR bosses.

Respectfully,
Lisa Terrell
Meyers, California

This is unconscionable. (Not your letter, of course! The proposal to rape out natural resources.) SheltieLover Jun 18 #1

Calling matters. Thank you for continuing to reach out. I called both my Senators' offices yesterday. Of course I was only able to speak to office workers, but at least Boozman's listened. One staffer listened to my opposition to the bill, but the one at Cotton's office hung up on me. (Hold please, click)

And will again, today. My rep is LaMalfa, no joy there. I am also sending donations to the most litigious environmental organizations I know of.

That's awesome!

I really hope the other local who was talking about signatures reaches out and we can coordinate some movement...
