It seems like every "major" decision is going to be decided in "2 weeks".

(2,357 posts)it's sometimes best to wait, that is if it is some hare-brained idea he had. If later on he comes back and asks if it's done, once again wait. All that means is he told someone and they agreed with him.
Now if he comes back a third time that job needs to be done. He's run it up the flagpole. The task went from being an idea to a plan, and now it's an order.
With Trump's 2 week strategy it is always a hare-brained idea

(3,097 posts)the Republicans were going to have a brokered convention to choose another candidate but they realized that they could not win without Trump. So they put party before country and chose an authoritarian Strong Leader who was not committed to democracy. They knew then. Several of the party leaders, the Bushes, Romney, the Cheneys took the unprecedented action of not supporting their own party's candidate. The Republicans knew that they were putting democracy in the US on the line. They chose to attack democracy if they couldn't have control.

(165,169 posts)Donald Trump's reliance on a two-week timeline for a decision on Iran represents a striking failure of self-awareness.
The White House says Trumpâs decision on Iran is âtwo weeksâ away.

Itâs rare to see a failure of self-awareness this brazen. Does the administration not realize that weâre all well aware of the âtwo weekâ trick? Which theyâve relied on far too often, for far too long? www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

At her latest briefing, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt acknowledged the speculation about the White Houses policy, which led her to read a prepared statement from the president. It read, Based on the fact that theres a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.
Its difficult to say with confidence whether these negotiations exist or whether theyll succeed, but the fact that Trump and his team has rolled out another two week timeline represents a remarkable failure of self-awareness.
Last week for example, the president said U.S. trading partners should expect letters on unilateral tariff rates in two weeks. Shortly before that, the president was asked about Vladimir Putins alleged interest in peace. He replied, I cant tell you that, but Ill let you know in about two weeks.
Last month, Trump was asked about tariff rates on pharmaceutical products. Ill know in the next two weeks, he said.
Alas, we can keep going. Wheres Trumps health care plan? Itll be ready in two weeks. What about a possible minimum-wage increase? That, too, will be unveiled in two weeks. On everything from tax policy to infrastructure, immigration to reproductive health, the presidents detailed solutions are always just two weeks away......
In this latest example, a reporter felt compelled to remind Leavitt of the familiarity of the administrations latest timeline.

If recent history is any guide, she and Trump will keep using it anyway, indifferent to the embarrassment.
