General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsReading some of the Maxwell posts here, I want to ask a serious question
We know that 25 % of Trump supporters will literally believe every lie told to them by Trump and his administration. However, many people here are saying Maxwell will only name Democrats as being participants in the Epstein sex ring and that will be just be accepted. One person even said we'll "lose the mid-terms."
I'm sorry, but I find that very hard to believe. It's illogical. If Trump's administration does the investigation in that manner, it would be ridiculously partisan and I think people will see right through it.
I think it's more likely Maxwell will incriminate mostly Bill Clinton so it will be see: "bothsides" do it, aka take the heat off Trump. Anything with the name Clinton in it will have the bonus of being red meat to the GOP.
Thoughts?

(4,006 posts)I think there are very powerful people who want to keep this from ever seeing the light of day.
Does anyone really believe the epstein suicide story? how much is a coincidence:
Violations of jail protocols where Epstein was removed from suicide watch before his death and placed in a cell where he was supposed to have a cellmate, but his cellmate was transferred, leaving him alone.
Failures by jail staff: Two guards assigned to monitor Epstein failed to perform required checks on him, falling asleep on duty and later falsifying records to cover it up, according to NPR. They were charged with conspiracy and record falsification, and eventually received community service sentences.
Malfunctioning cameras: Two cameras in front of Epstein's cell malfunctioned on the night of his death, according to Wikipedia. Although the Department of Justice released video footage of the common area, they later admitted that footage from inside the cell was permanently deleted due to a "clerical error".
I will be very surprised if they release any names.

Was it logical that the U.S. re-elected a felonious sexual predator that had stoked an insurrection as he left office with record disapproval after his first term?

(28,174 posts)because they think it will implicate powerful Democrats. Theyll believe that because theyre told to believe it snd want to believe it.
These interviews with Maxwell do nothing but muddy the waters, which is the intention.

(60,432 posts)Bill Clinton is known by image and name by everyone. There have been no accusations from anyone at least that I have read. If it a Maxwell accusation and a Clinton denial with no support to her accusation, it will look like another Republican dirty trick.

(7,770 posts)will have an impact on midterms for democrats. However, if they try any monkey business by putting out false information, I think that will not go well for them. I predict that prosecutors that worked on the case will revolt. I don't think rank and file prosecutors are going to lie to protect trump or stand by and let a convicted pedophile play the victim.

For the want of a nail the shoe was lost,
For the want of a shoe the horse was lost,
For the want of a horse the rider was lost,
For the want of a rider the battle was lost,
For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail.

(349 posts)I think this is whats happening. (Repost of my post from a few days ago.)
First, they fired Maurene Comey, who helped prosecute Maxwell. That was the shot across the bow. If theres anyone still in DOJ who wants to publicly or officially oppose Trump, and if they want to remain employed, theyll stay quiet.
Second, we know that Todd Blanche (Trumps former defense attorney) who is now Deputy AG, is going to meet with Maxwell. Hell dangle the pardon if she agrees to play along and clear Trumps name. She will.
Third, theyll cite Maxwell as Epsteins closest confidant and associate clearing Trump. Theyll do this over and over and over.
Fourth, If any part of the files do come out, theyll have Trumps name removed from the most incriminating parts (we already know of the 1,000 FBI personnel working on this, per Sen. Durbin). And the WH will keep saying: Maxwell said he didnt do anything, over and over and over.
That will become the new narrative.
This is very close to how they muddied the waters on the Mueller report.
And it worked.
Thats what I posted the other day. The only thing Id add at this point is: theyre going to say Maxwell was treated unfairly, because she wouldnt lie and implicate Trump, so she went to prison. Theyll say this is all about Trump, reminding supporters that they already believe the justice system is out to get him. Maxwell walks. Focus is on DOJ corruption. And hey, the files prove Trump is innocent! (Even though theyve been scrubbed.)

(1,160 posts)That "100 FBI personnel" are working on this, (and that is proven to be true), there is no WAY any of this stays secret if something is secretly redacted or held back....Too many people involved to keep that kind of secret.

(349 posts)The Deputy Attorney General is tweeting about meeting with Maxwell. Trump is publicly leaving open the idea of pardoning her. MAGA podcasts and tv shows are already pushing the idea that she was a victim of Epstein. Theyre just openly doing this. They always do.

(10,378 posts)Answer: Krasnov told him to. Right after the story broke and the heat landed on Krasnov, and Krasnov couldnt deflect it away.
The point is to have her say that Krasnov wasnt a client of Epstein. She may implicate others but the point is to exonerate Krasnov and hope it goes away without giving up the files.
Its a stupid idea and it wont just be accepted. Krasnov will continue to hide the files and the shitstorm will intensify.

(68,901 posts)what you say is going to happen. The felon is a snake. I just saw a clip on Lawrence's show, Ali Velshi is covering. The felon looked very confident that he has dodged another bullet. Now He's saying I hardly knew the guy.
