Massie Says GOP Leaders in ‘Full Panic’ Over Epstein Files
September 24, 2025 at 12:03 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is declaring victory on his move to force a vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files after the election to fill a vacant Arizona House seat, Semafor reports.

And he says House Speaker Mike Johnson and “some of the powers that be in DC are in full panic right now” about it.

... but on the other hand, he doesn't really care if other Repukes are in there. He seems to be saying "Let the chips fall where they may. It's the only way we'll ever get past this."

Most Democrats are saying pretty much the same thing. We already know the reason why Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's private jet. He explained himself years ago. If other Dems were involved with Epstein (and it's doubtful) ... they haven't said a word.

I give Rep. Massie credit because Chump is in a position to do him some damage in the next election. He may not survive this.

and I don't REALLY get how or why he's pressing the issue. I mean....what's in it for HIM? He's a MAGA tool and very unpopular at this point in his neck of the woods. Chances are very high he loses re-election next November. So maybe this is a hail Mary type of issue for him? He can prove his self professed Libertarian roots and expose Trump and his pals as (alleged) pedophiles. Personally, I think most everything will be redacted and purged. They're gonna cover their tracks: that's what they do best. But we shall see.

Threat of a primary , a promise to block him from going after McTurtle's seat, demanding a share of a kickback...I do not really care why Massie is going after the Putin's puppet . But I am happy that he is pushing it.

MTG may drink the koolaid and think that there are lots of dems and few Rs. Hell she might even say that Mango was a democrat when he was on Epstein island -- so tea party et al get a pass.

But we know that this is the realm of the super rich and powerful who might have been blackmailed... that has Republican megadonors and politicians written all over it

It's a bill to require the Attorney General to release all documents and records in possession of the Department of Justice relating to Jeffrey Epstein, and for other purposes. In order to be binding, it needs to pass both the House and Senate and be signed by the President.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/dem-victory-sets-stage-trump-110036497.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAE-XzkwEQ6a_M6A6c-6dqyGdIMjF3BBlckEx3EcYzCIZvYPzz2kNXerchHpF6wFdtvOvSarI80bJi4bV034wcvPZuAF6q02awOjSkqcgDreM4EdNTzJ2Ns68co4AQMI_jL1gSTUmfSLjlHer0FLvE5Ae9VUa-FOcco_NNUKPr6EX

Once Grijalva is sworn in and the needed signatures are secured, Massie must wait at least seven legislative days to bring the bill to the floor.

House leaders can also wait two legislative days before putting it to a vote. The bill is likely to face an uphill battle in the Senate if it clears the House, but it will force Republicans to go on record over the Epstein files.

Thune has already refused to commit to even bringing it to the floor in the Senate.
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-thune-wont-commit-to-senate-vote-on-epstein-files-in-senate-leadership-briefing
Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., won’t commit to a Senate vote on legislation that would require the Justice Department to release files on the sex trafficking investigations into Jeffrey Epstein. But he said that he believes “transparency is always best.”

Asked on Tuesday if the Senate would vote on the bill if it is passed by the House, Thune said “I can’t comment on that at this point.”

Thune said the Justice Department “has already released tons of files related to this matter.”

“I trust them in terms of having the confidence that they’ll get as much information out there as possible in a way that protects the rights of the victims,” Thune said.

Trump seems to be genuinely tied up in knots about the Epstein files. He can't stand for anyone to bring up Epstein’s name, let alone the files themselves. I absolutely do not believe he's capable of faking that, so the way I see it, there must be something in there that he's very afraid of.
