(20,838 posts)Do they mean this?
raising the minimum wage,
expanding Social Security,
guaranteeing health care as a human right,
cutting the cost of prescription drugs,
paid family and medical leave,
equal pay for equal work,
more affordable housing,
making childcare and higher education affordable to all,
taking on the existential threat of climate change.
a government and an economy that works for all of us and not just the billionaire class and the Oligarchs.
And this: "I just bought a Bazooka. BE VERY AFRAID"

(20,838 posts)They are mostly economic.
And what was not in the email was all over the actual speeches, along with AOC on most of the tour.
I have been under the weather this week, and "forgot" to stuff an entire platform into a short post.
SO HERE'S THE DEAL.
I posted suggestions for a NEW platform and talking points, thanks to the track record of the most recent

Remember, "perfectionism" basically sank Kamala Harris.
Oh, she's "Weak on Gaza", so stay home and elect Shitler Junior.

Thank you for pointing that out to me.

That's going to leave a mark.

(3,023 posts)Newsom is campaigning for 2028. If so, he has my vote. Do they think I would vote for those who are sitting on their hands? I'll vote for someone who fights, who makes noise and who makes sense. I don't live in NY, but AOC gets money from me. Same for Bernie.

(12,029 posts)Kentucky needs him in the Senate. He knows exactly what Kentuckians need after two terms as governor.
If he runs for Senate, he'll win for sure.

(5,774 posts)Dems need to be strategic. When Obama named Janet Napolitano to be secretary of homeland security, they gave the Arizona governorship to a nasty Republican and also removed Arizona's best chance at the time to beat McCain. To this day I consider the strategic harm from that decision to overwhelmingly out weight any strategic benefit to naming someone from a southwestern state to that role. It was a shoot-yourself-in-the-foot kind of move!
Republicans would never do something like that. If they've got a foot in a blue state, they NEVER voluntarily give that up.
That's exactly why we absolutely must grab McConnell's Senate seat. McConnell served the Republican Party and not his constituents for all those years. KY is Democratic-Senator starved. (I don't even know if Rand Paul (R) is up for election in 2026? He doesn't irk me like Mitch McConnell does right now.)
the single biggest architect of the right wing coup of this country. McConnell's behavior with regard to the SCOTUS will go down in history as more egregious than anything Benedict Arnold did. We would not be in the position we are in now but for McConnell's deliberate, calculated, and treasonous behavior. I would have zero problem with him being tarred, feathered, drawn, and quartered!

(12,029 posts)the names of democratic lawmakers who complain that Newsome is campaigning for President. To them, I'd say "So what? He's a Democrat isn't he?" I don't live in NY either and donate to AOC, and I have watched all of Bernie's Oligarc rallies!

(6,343 posts)I think one of the funnier things about the Homan bribe is how cheap he was. Guy was selling out his integrity for $50,000? It's almost comical. Newsom is right here to highlight the amount, which really shows how low rent these fucking creeps are. The paper bag is a nice added touch.
They are low-level and gross mafiosi.

(1,934 posts)So much of the time, the Democratic leadership's response to these ridiculous threats and lies is outrage, shock, and anger. All would be natural responses if the GOP were normal human beings. However, the GOP is not normal, and these sorts of outrageous lies and threats are a deliberate strategy to deflect. Democrats keep taking the bait. You can't argue facts with the GOP; they will simply lie. You can't get outraged, as that comes off as being on defense.
Sort of like what my mom used to call "getting a rise out of you". By getting angry, the Dems are allowing the GOP to "get a rise out of them."
Newsom doesn't take the bait. Newsom knows that exposing the absurdity is the way to put the GOP on defense. Newsom makes the GOP look like the idiots they are. Newsom will follow this up with the facts, but first sluffing off the GOP's threat or lie with a laugh.
I hope other Dems can learn from Newsom.

(12,029 posts)takes what comes out of the Republican Party as a joke. It stops Republican ideas in their tracks. Laughing in their face makes immediate fools out of them. This one poked at Homan is hilarious!
