"The Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday approved the launch of the Texas Stock Exchange, clearing the way for it to begin operations next year and potentially sparking competition with New York-based markets. Known as TXSE, the Dallas-based electronic exchange has raised $160 million from firms including Charles Schwab, Citadel Securities and BlackRock. CEO James Lee said he hopes the TXSE can capitalize on Texas’ pro-business reputation, according to The Wall Street Journal..."
