Israel launches strikes on Gaza, reports say, after Netanyahu orders 'powerful' attacks

https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c891ex72nj7t

Summary

Israel has launched strikes on Gaza, news agencies report, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to immediately carry out "powerful" attacks. At least three people have been killed, the Hamas-affiliated Gaza Civil Defence agency tells the BBC

Israel and Hamas are accusing each other of violating the ceasefire, with Israel's defence minister says Hamas attacked Israeli soldiers in Gaza - Hamas denies this. It comes as Israel says a coffin handed over by Hamas on Monday did not contain the remains of a deceased hostage.

Hamas says Israel is obstructing efforts to search for bodies in the Strip, and says it is postponing a planned handover of another dead hostage. All but one of the dead hostages still in Gaza were among the 251 people abducted during the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, when about 1,200 other people were killed

Israel responded by launching a military campaign in Gaza, during which more than 68,500 people have been killed, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.

Those 97 people do not matter, if the same number of Israelis were killed it would dominate the news. :( nt cliffside Tuesday #4

Including a family of 7 children and 3 women. More since then. The bombings and shooting, shelling never stopped.

Oh but those are just "hiccups" while an alleged attack with neither evidence nor victims is a "grave violation".

Odd how Ben-Gvir predicted this mere days ago when he said "all hell" needs to break loose on Gaza.

On a quixotic quest to banish or at least point out the hypocrisy, dehumanization and double standards that have led to at least 80,000 people losing their lives, most of them civilians. It just "ain't right" and goes against everything we are supposed to stand for. Why can't so many people not see that?

with hardly any care. Some have been evacuated for care and then returned to Gaza.

And our media barely covers their stories, they could interview doctors that have been on the frontlines in the absence of foreign journalists.

Bottom line ... only some people matter.

I must give a shout out to Earl, when I joined DU back in 2004, any discussion of the Israel/Palestinian conflict was banned from GD to the IP forum ... progress.
