Itâs not about the money, Trump just wants Americans to go hungry.

(1,498 posts)I, myself, started out as a bully when I was young. Somewhere along the line, I decided that there was no sport in it. For reasons I won't bore you with, I decided that there was (a lot of) fun in bullying the bullies. If I saw a kid getting bullied, I'd wade right in and have a go at the bully. Usually, it was verbal -but not always.
I say all this for two reasons:
1. Bullies can change. If they don't, then they like being bullies because they (bullies) are inherently weak.
2. We are entering a target rich environment for people who like to fight against bullies.

(2,410 posts)You saw the light and CHANGED! Bravo! (I've always found that bullies are cowards underneath and so they hit first to protect themselves... or their IMAGE of themselves.)
And yes, the REAL HEROES are stepping to the fore. THAT'S EXCITING!

If the reasons were economic, the tariffs wouldn't be applied, then rescinded, then applied again after an argument. And the Fentanyl excuse? More drugs cross the border going north into Canada than south into the US. Plus, the Fentanyl is a supply and demand issue. In all businesses, including illegal ones, supply meats demand. The US has not done anything about the huge demand for drugs in the US or about the unlicensed firearms dealers in places like Louisiana and Texas selling arsenals to buyers knowing they're probably going to drive across the border to Mexico.

(844 posts)it has been a Republican Mantra for decades and decades.......If you get sick.....Die
With all they are doing to destroy health care and medications for the masses, it is clearly their wish.
Trump declared through action/in-action that Covid was a farce....Due to that at least 500,000 additional U.S citizens died who shouldn't have....FACT
I doubt that the Physicians at Walter Reed, who treated Trump when he caught Covid, shoved a light stick up his ass, injected lysol into his veins and lungs, or gave him some horse medicine....
Ivanka and Jared were making a literal fortune off commandeering and selling off the entire Protective Personal Equipment in the U.S. reserves, and confiscating all shipments coming into the U.S. to sell........ Trump didn't want that to end, saying Covid was nothing to worry about as it ravaged the population of the United States and world....

(844 posts)have outgrown their usefulness, I suspect that Trump's CABAL has realized they no longer need their votes since the Repubs have corrupted the voting to an extent when they no longer will need their votes.....
Like Hitler's henchman said: It matters not how the people vote, but WHO COUNTS THE VOTES......

AND it truly is the Republican Party, not just Trump.....Without the Republican Senators, Republican House Members, and the Republican U.S. Supreme court justices, he wouldn't have lasted ten minutes into his first term, and certainly not in his second term.....

(30,463 posts)"Miles Taylor, who was a deputy chief of staff for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) during the first Trump administration, went after President Trump as the government shutdown endangers the distribution of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this weekend.
I was part of the internal Trump administration team trying to convince the president to end the shutdown in 2018 2019 for 35 days before people went hungry, workers lost pay, and government services collapsed, Taylor said in a post on the social platform X Wednesday. Heres what I learned: he doesnt give a s‑‑‑, he added."

(29,030 posts)They caught the damn car, but this car might literally eat them.
If this becomes long term, the wealth distribution is going to skew worse very quickly parallel to hunger.
Wealth distribution in the country was already approaching revolution levels (historically) even before this.
