Vice President JD Vance has declared that only a really terrible person would mistreat a dog, apparently forgetting that his cabinet colleague Kristi Noem bragged about executing a puppy in her memoir just last year.
Vance, 41, was appearing on The New York Posts Pod Force One podcast when he and host Miranda Devine got into a discussion about the controversy that has engulfed Twitch streamer Hasan Piker after his followers spotted his dog wearing an electronic training collar in a video and accused him of using it to administer corrective shocks to the animal, which Piker denied.
Devine asked the vice president what he believed a willingness to hurt dogs revealed about an owner.
I think it tells you that theyre bad people, he answered. If you can actually cause suffering to an innocent animal, youre probably the kind of person who doesnt worry about suffering in people as well and thats been my experience. If you mistreat dogs, thats a 100 percent sign that youre gonna be a really terrible person.

That would be ICE Barbie in a nutshell. Not that JD seems to be bothered much by his party's general awfulness toward a lot of people.

(2,017 posts)To illustrate, he seems to love the pejorative "like a dog" in the sense that he uses it frequently. People who love or at least like dogs don't think to use them as an object of derision. And Trump has sometimes even used it in contexts where it doesn't even make sense, like "he lies like a dog" type of thing.
I bet it's because dog's generally hate his mongrel ass. They're smart like that.
