Billie Eilish Asks Billionaires The 1 Question We All Have -- And She Did It In Front Of Mark Zuckerberg

The “Birds of a Feather” singer was honored for her music at Wednesday night’s WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards, and used her acceptance speech as an opportunity to call out wealth inequality by asking billionaires the one question most of us plebs have for them.

“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark, and people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever — especially in our country,” she began.

“And I’d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things and maybe give it to some people that need it,” she continued before things got a bit spicy.

“Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me,” she added, before going in for the kill.

“And if you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?” Billie asked. “No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”

Not particularly a fan of her music, but GO, BILLIE! You just made my day!

She has so much wisdom at such a young age. And better morality than the entire Republican Party combined.

For years, despite being one of the wealthiest people in the world, Zuckerberg has refused to take down animal torture videos on Facebook, apparently because he likes the income they generate.
Come on, Zuckerberg, even if you don't like animals, why don't you just do the right thing for once in your life & end the posting of animal torture videos on Facebook?

(I agree with Billie Eilish)

I’ve wondered recently how much they’ve actually given for the Epstein ballroom and other Trump requests. I’ve wondered how much they’ve paid Trump vs. what they pay in taxes. If Trump keeps asking maybe fair taxation won’t seem so bad.

Why shouldn't I keep my money? And people who don't have money often don't have money for good reasons. But then again, there are so many people who just have dragon hoards of it and have no intention of ever doing anything with it at all, except maybe pass down as much as possible to their heirs, like the whole thing is a real-life Monopoly game. My mom is like that; we never had much when I was younger but property and some stocks she invested in ages ago have all soared, and she has a huge nest egg she's determined to never touch but keeps track of religiously. If stocks are up she feels like she made a bunch of money, but if they're down she probably has a bad day and starts worrying.
But really - it's almost completely abstract, she's never going to touch the money, it means practically nothing. Myself and my siblings have no plans for it either when she passes; my lifestyle is pretty determinedly frugal and that's not going to change. You get used to not having much and not trusting the future, so it's hard to ever relax. Anyway, I've read that there's a "money isn't real" sentiment among the young, and I'm starting to think they're close to right. Most of the country's wealth is squirreled away doing not much for anyone, just numbers on spreadsheets, never going anywhere or doing much good for anyone. Or rather - I can live like a poor person and feel like I have a little security because there's assets in an account somewhere, but if those assets are doing anything at all they're probably working against my actual interests, leveraged on the banking and finance end toward ai projects and all kinds of nonsense like that, leading to nothing particularly good.

Billie Eilish isn't afraid to be the bad guy in a room full of billionaires.

On Oct. 29, the 23-year-old singer announced during the Wall Street Journal Magazine 2025 Innovator Awards that she would be donating $11.5 million of earnings from her "Hit Me Hard and Soft" tour to various organizations dedicated to food equity, climate justice, reducing carbon pollution, and combating the climate crisis.

The announcement came from late-night television host Stephen Colbert as he presented Eilish with the "Music Innovator of the Year" award.

"That's wonderful," Colbert said. "Billie, on behalf of humans, thank you very much."

That is a rather large percentage of the amount she is worth.

I wonder how or if he responded.

“No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”

That's "going in for the kill"??

Hype overload.
