Was just reading my handy dandy printout of the US Constitution and found this in Article 1, Section 5, clause 4:
Neither house, during the Session of Congress, shall, without the Consent of the other, adjourn for more than three days, not to any other place than that in which the two Houses shall be sitting.
Not that repubs GAF about that silly piece of parchment, but another point of leverage?

smacking little Mikey Johnson across the face to send him the (RECONVENE!!!) message.

...he [the President] may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper...

(1,783 posts)6. Unfortunately the House is having pro forma sessions
But there must be a way to force the seating of Adelita Grijalva, and then to force the vote on the discharge petition.

(9,290 posts)7. Correct answer
By meeting twice a week in a proforma session the House is meeting its Constitutional obligation

(1,783 posts)8. Is there no way to force the House to seat Adelita Grijalva during the pro forma session?
If we ever reclaim the majority, what is to prevent our Speaker from refusing to seat ANY Republicans?
