I still pay bills by mail but I try to give the task a semblance of joy by using stamps that mean something to me. I refuse to stick those generic flag stamps on. I usually save a couple from each sheet in case I send something special to a friend. I have some Woodstock, Spongebob, Jeopardy (they look like the answer board and mention Trebek), and Native American stamps.
Today, the young lady at the counter pulled two new sheets. One was William F Buckley, and the other was Jimmy Carter. I laughed and told her she was forcing me to pick a side, but I don't think she got it. Neither was in the public eye when she was born.
Help me decide but don't take too long. haha

(20,315 posts)Because I had the Spongebob stamps early in the summer but they haven't been available since. I live near to post office here in NE Ohio so I check often.
Maybe they send different releases to different areas.

(3,598 posts)celebrate the World Stamp Expo which will be in Boston in May of 2026. Given the year (250th) and the location, the images are, not surprisingly, "revolutionary" - the Old North Church and one of the four Midnight riders who set off to give the warning.
The Jimmy Carter stamp really captures his humanity. Tough choice,eh? No contest.

(478 posts)Pow Wows. I love stamps. I live in a small town in a rural area, so the post office kind of doubles as a stop and chat for a little while place. The postmaster knows I enjoy stamps and always shows me new issues. No generic sheets of flag stamps for me!😁 Im a fossil, so I still pay my bills by mail and send cards and letters. Thanks for the fun post. I had not seen the Buckley stamp, so that gave me a chuckle remembering that pompous ass.
