Is this intentional? I think so. Just like the Great Gatsby

night at Mar a Lago when the Government shutdown was making people go hungry. They teach. They teach sadism.

Could any of these people be more tone deaf? My my my…
When does the “Let Them Eat Cake” moment happen? It wasn’t during the shutdown with that opulent orgy of food. Betting this won’t be it either. Will it take photos of people starving here in America to jar those who have yet to turn against him?

the downtrodden who lived in the Valley.

The valley is described as a place where ashes accumulate like mountains, housing the forgotten, "ash-gray" working class who are victims of industrialism and social neglect.

That looks like nursing home Friday night, where all the residents will end up picking at the oversalted buttered corn and the dry cornbread.

“That’ll fill em up”

It’s fried something. Is that masked potatoes with weak a** gravy cut from the corner of a pan?

That plate would be great for a salad, or a small centered serving, not for brown toned slop that looks like it's out of a 1960's Kraft or Stoffer's ad showing a healthy family dinner using their products.
All it's missing is the lime "salad" jello centerpiece.
They'd be better off using a totally white bone china, maybe with a bit of gilding on a fluted edge, putting the meat and mashed potatoes front/center with the veggies in the back on either side of a dollop of stuffing or cranberry sauce, and serving the cornbread on a separate plate.
Unless what we thought was a piece of cornbread is a block of congealed stuffing ...

Love the post. Spot on. It’s funny that even our at home buffet/get your own dinner spreads we all structure our plates basically as you describe.

I saw a comment about the random carrot and the corn - you can count them. Was it stirred? At all?
