Trump Suggests Alex Pretti Was To Blame For Bringing His Legal Gun
President Donald Trump on Tuesday suggested that Alex Pretti, who was gunned down by immigration officers in Minneapolis on Saturday, may have brought his death on himself by bringing his registered handgun with him when he went to document agents behavior.
You cant walk in with guns, he told reporters as he prepared to board Marine One to give a rally speech in Iowa.
When one reporter followed up by asking about the Second Amendment, Trump doubled down: You can't walk in with guns. You can't do that. It's just a very unfortunate incident.
Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, had a concealed-carry permit and the weapon was stowed in a holster. When he tried to help a woman who had just been shoved to the ground by an immigration agent, he was attacked with pepper spray, tackled by a handful of agents, disarmed and then shot repeatedly.

WASHINGTON In vivid detail, and under the bright lights of the House Jan. 6 committees hearing room, a former West Wing aide described the final furious and violent hours of President Donald Trumps futile campaign to cling to power by all means available to him.
Cassidy Hutchinson, who served as a senior aide to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, detailed outbursts of rage from Trump the day he urged supporters to march to the Capitol, portraying him as angry and supportive of the Capitol attack as his last, desperate grasp to overturn the will of voters failed.
I dont f---ing care that they have weapons, Trump fumed in urging aides to take down magnetometers near the White House before he addressed a Stop the Steal rally, Hutchinson testified. Theyre not here to hurt me. Take the f---ing mags away.
On Jan. 6, Trump planned to go to the Capitol with the mob after the rally, Hutchinson testified, citing conversations with Meadows and Trump confidant Rudy Giuliani.
