Senility, unreasonable paranoia, or realistic concern? You are the judge.

Earlier today I received a bunch of twenties from an ATM. Twenties are today's fives, but the machines still only dispense twenties hereabouts. One of the bills was very crisp and looked weird. My initial thought was the motherfucking TSF regime was issuing currency it would later dishonor.

With my eyeglasses, a magnifying glass and Google I discovered I now have an almost uncirculated Series 1993 Twenty Dollar Bill. Those bills differ from current twenties in a number of respects, most conspicuously in that Jackson's image is in a small oval and a fraction of the size it is on more recent bills.

You must be senile if you can't remember bills that were in circulation thirty years ago.

You are unreasonably paranoid, the regime would never mess with our money.

You are realistically concerned, but shouldn't be giving them ideas

You got a $20 bill and confirmed via Google it's a 1993 $20 bill, and yes the currency looked considerably different back then, esp. the size of the POTUS's faces were smaller, centered, with an oval frame around them. Still legal tender, there are still old bills from back then in circulation (though I've not gotten one in an ATM in a long time I must admit)

New would mean the current regime issued it.

like maybe a safe deposit box, where it's been sitting for decades, deposited it, and then the bank just re-used it. That's the only thing that makes sense I guess

I'd probably stash it if it were me and didn't really need to spend it

Collectors like old money, but I expect it isn't old enough. If it's only twenty bucks, spend it quickly, so you can stop worrying.

Unless there is a mistake on the one the OP received (like Kurt Cobain instead of Andrew Jackson on the front ), it is worth exactly twenty bucks.
