Wilson died Friday of complications from cancer at his home in Palm Springs, his son Demond Wilson Jr. told TMZ.

(1,769 posts)That was the funniest show, my daddy seemed to think Redd Fox was the craziest comedian ever. I used to tell him, wait until you see Flip Wilson do Geraldine!
Man, all the things from my childhood and youth are going away. I am getting so freaking old! All the actors, singers, comedians, the TV shows, the movies... Young people have no idea who most of them were, it's like we're from different planets now.

and I know what you mean about losing people from our youth.....all the Mary Tyler Moore show folk are gone now.....
