7. Trump simply asserted his kingly authority to renovate and temporarily close the Kennedy Center.

He purged the center's board, filled the board with allies, and appointed himself as chairman. Trump believes this gives him sole authority to oversee its closing and do a complete renovation.

Trump is full of shit. The Kennedy center is congressionally funded. It receives federal appropriations for maintenance. Major renovations and closures require congressional approval. A lawsuit was filed in December, 2025, challenging Trump's proposed changes, arguing only Congress has the authority to change the center's name or renovate the structure.

As usual, Trump ignores the law and does whatever the fuck he wants, knowing no one will ever stop him. It's incomprehensible. When will Congress or the courts stand up to this monster?
