EDIT: My post is not about the State of the Union speech. It's about the separate response speech by the part not in power given each year after the State of the Union. My is not about what Donnie's bullshit speech or reactions in the Congressional chamber.
Yes, it's a few weeks away and yes they usually are after thoughts, but this platform can and should matter more.
It can't be some flat political speak, soft spoken easily forgettable moment.
No matter the party or year, that's what it is though. However we haven't had an America like the past 12 months under trump.
Not even his first term shit show.
There needs to be urgency and something that can break through a typical sound bite.
I would even have an audience. There should be energy to this. This matters more than ever. There is no end to what should be mentioned, but it would a tragedy if they didn't make an issue of his theft in Fulton County and his threats to our elections.
It must be concise and humiliating to him.

OP
It should be a boycott. It will be nothing but lies and a waste of time, and they should act accordingly.

The Dem response would be a separate location no matter who attends the SOTU or not

I'm not talking about the State of the Union. I'm talking about the separate Democratic response.

And they should have a broadcast elsewhere which gives a truthful State of the Union that pulls no punches.

Decorum has already been destroyed by this Sociopath and his enabling Republics. He is owed no deference.

The response has never made much impact.
Many people can't bear the sight of President Sociopath, so they're not going to watch his SOTU in the 1st place. I'm one of those.

(4,997 posts)8. I'm not. Expectations are a of standard monotone (if not tone deaf) speech where the words evaporate as soon as they...
touch oxygen unfortunately.

(52,986 posts)4. I recommend two speakers
The first is Joe Pesci...
The second is Kamala Harris. She'll describe all the atrocities the Trump Administration did in the first year they were back in office, and what they plan to do.
there you have it
