Closing the Kennedy Center is even worse and/or more stupid than it appears

According to Julian Sanchez on bluesky, although it may not be obvious to those who don't regularly visit the center, it is not run down. In fact, it received a renovation in 2019, and he says it is absolutely gorgeous in there right now in its current state. It certainly does not need to be shut down for two years for a total renovation.

The corporate media is not mentioning this of course, because in their "sly" way they continue to sanewash trump. But since the center was recently renovated, that only leaves the fact that they don't have enough acts to stay open for the next two years and little trumpie's feelings might get hurt if that is publicized.

Oh, and it's a total waste of taxpayer money which I am sure the corporate media would be screaming bloody murder about if it was a Dem doing it.

They really have a double standard for trump and this is just another example of it.

they can't sell tickets, the opera moved out, and it's so embarrassing that Piggy is closing it for completely unnecessary "renovations," which will almost certainly consist of a whole lot of gilt stickers from Home Depot like the crap he glued to the walls of the Oval Office.

It’s all over facebook and twitter. People claiming the theater was sold out and other people showing how few tickets were sold at specific showings.

Fox of course is promoting it but I don’t a lot about it elsewhere. As you say, the media is cowering away.

One of Trump’s first term press secretaries claimed her mother went and the theater was “standing room only” 🙄

This part of the story is just being swept under the rug completely even though we know that all the journalists covering it are well aware that the KC is in great shape.

I love his Spirit and found it Encouraging..

John F. Kennedy’s only grandson, Jack Schlossberg, 33, was more direct in his claims that the president is trying to dominate the iconic arts venue.
“Trump can take the Kennedy Center for himself. He can change the name, shut the doors, and demolish the building. He can try to kill JFK,” Schlossberg wrote on his X account. “But JFK is kept alive by us now rising up to remove Donald Trump, bring him to justice, and restore the freedoms generations fought for.”

I did hear one MSNOW person after a Trump clip talking about how dilapidated it was speaking of things falling from the ceiling mention that it was not true and had a major renovation in 2019.

Learning from the East Wing destruction, Congress or maybe the DC government should get an injunction.

What is sad is he likely did this because he thinks it will hide that people are not coming since he broke the programming and put his name on it.
