Was watching "Law & Order" on Roku Channel...saw a Kristi Noem commercial for her self-deportation app
It was fucking surreal. I turned it off before it ended. I was working on something, had the TV on for background noise, wasn't really watching. Heard her voice, and when I heard what she was saying, turned my head to watch, thought "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"
She's talking in a sing-song voice about how families can self-deport (while they are showing brown people boarding a plane) and how they would qualify for a chance to "come back legally."
Then she does the lower growly register of voice and says "BECAUSE IF YOU CONTINUE TO STAY HERE ILLEGALLY, you WILL BE CAUGHT."
That's when I reached for Mr. Remote.
I have Roku on often. The thing that usually makes me change the channel are the confused seniors asking the nice man about how much their monthly insurance will cost (these commercials are VERY INSULTING to seniors, treating them as if they are fragile and confused and not too bright).
Anyway...ICE Barbie, doing self-deportation commercials. This is what we've come to, I guess.
