My theory:
IF Trump is thoroughly out of office (hopefully with a Dem in the WH) BUT he's still calling the shots from Marl-A-Lago or Bedminster, then it's probable that he has dossiers on Republicans (and maybe a few Dems) to lean on them.
It won't be because he can return to office. If he's politically a dead fish and still telling Republicans how to support the oligarchs, still pushing his social agenda, etc., then it really can't be another reason.
