The Democratic Party as an institution is more unpopular than ICE and AI?

Shock poll: Democratic Party super unpopular:

https://thehill.com/opinion/robbys-radar/5777165-poll-shows-dem-unpopularity/

"The Democratic Party has a huge image problem. According to a new poll from NBC news, the party and its most likely 2028 presidential candidates are toxically unpopular with voters.

Now, this was a survey of 1,000 registered voters over the telephone and via text message, and it has an error margin of 3 points, so do take all of this with a grain of salt. Even so, it’s striking to me that the Democratic Party as an institution was even more unpopular than ICE and AI! The only thing that polled worse as a concept was Iran, the nation we’re currently at war with."

...and blind allegiance is something Democrats find fault with when it comes to the Republicans and MAGA. When it comes to Democrats criticizing Democrats, the most common complaint is the lack of backbone. The way to change that is to show some backbone, not grouse about the people who hold that view.

How can we be less popular than T? The R party?

Speechless, except good on Stephen Colbert I guess.

My entire family and many in my orbit are Dems. They don’t see the party as standing up to what is going on. I think when a party has no power, the voters also take it out on their own in frustration. This doesn’t mean Dems won’t show up to vote. We have won all of the special elections.

"The survey of 1,000 registered voters, which had a 3.1% margin of error and was conducted between February 27 and March 3, found that 41% of respondents had a positive and 53% had a negative view of Trump, putting Trump 12 points below water. That was noticeably better than both Harris (34%-51%) and Newsom (27%-45%).

Similarly, the GOP (37%-51%) polled significantly better than the Democratic Party (30%-52%). In fact, the latter was rated the second least popular figure or institutions whose popularity was measured by the poll, behind Immigration and Customs Enforcement (38%-56%) and Artificial Intelligence (26%-46%), but ahead of the Islamic Republic of Iran (8%-51%)."

"Still, Democrats came out on top on the question of which party voters would like to see in control of Congress after the midterms, with 50% expressing a preference for team blue and 44% indicating they’d like Republicans to hold on. That’s a slight improvement for the GOP, which trailed the Democrats by eight in October."

one party wants a fascist oligarchy, the other party wants to work bipartisanly with their friends across the aisle. The GOP aren't exactly winning the contest either.

If only there were an opposition party in the USA, it might be popular; but that's likely why there isn't one.

When the Progressive Party candidate Bob La Follette won over 16% in the 1924 Presidential election, the two established parties worked really hard for it to be impossible for anyone to do that again. So there are two parties by design or by conspiracy, depending on your perspective.

Republicans are constantly attacking democrats from the right. Green Party members are constantly attacking democrats from the left. The corrupt corporate media parrots whatever is the anti-democratic party talking point of the day. And late night talk show hosts go after democrats to prove they make fun of both sides.

the perceived weakness of some of our elected officeholders against Trump and his fascism---
I am very dissatisfied with some of them myself, for the same reason !!!

It's NOT because they disapprove of Democratic policies,
and it does NOT mean that they are going to vote for Republicans now---
and indeed are turning out in great numbers to vote against the GOP in special and off-year elections,
which has always been a predictive factor of the results in the next national election!

Republicans, on the other hand, are KNEE-JERK with their polling responses....
Most will never admit dissatisfaction with Trump or their party,
even though they may be lying to the pollsters about how they REALLY feel !!!

I think a lot of them will continue to support Trump and the Republican party in polls---
but they will be less likely to actually turn out and vote for Republican candidates
in a mid-term election--- especially those people who rightly feel BETRAYED by Trump!

However, elected Democrats have some work to do with the party base!
If the majority would just DO it, I think these polling numbers would shift dramatically---
and it would BOOST the turnout of party base voters even further!

Guess What Moderate Democratic Voters Aren’t Anymore? Moderate.
Two new polls suggest that moderate Democrats too want higher taxes on the rich and some measure of economic populism. Moderate isn’t what it was in 1992. https://newrepublic.com/article/207435/moderate-democratic-voters-economic-populism

(Even my life-long Republican best friend and Reagan fan has freely said,
"YES, the very rich should pay more in taxes!" and polling of the Republican base voters
agree with that opinion! The problem is with their elected politicians....)
