Ten players from Jamaican (soccer) club denied entry to US

Ten players from Jamaican side Mount Pleasant have been denied a visa to enter the United States for Wednesday's Concacaf Champions Cup tie against LA Galaxy.

Mount Pleasant, winners of the 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup, are set to make their Champions Cup debut against Galaxy at the Dignity Health Sports Park in California.

The Jamaican side have been forced to call up a number of academy players for the fixture.

"We don't want to just show up for the game, we want to be able to compete, but we are not being given the opportunity to be at our best," Mount Pleasant sporting director Paul Christie told the Jamaica Observer.

Mount Pleasant's squad includes seven players from the Caribbean island nation of Haiti.

United States President Donald Trump expanded a travel ban that came into force on 1 January, which bars Haiti nationals from entering the US.

Just look at the nightmare that has exploded here in the U.S. with countless on-line betting corporations paying players and referees to literally throw games.....

Last year, here in Colorado alone, SIX BILLION was spent by Colorado residents betting on-line............

LOL, and we thought that it was just that the referees were "making mistakes" with their ludicrous calls or non-calls.......and that the College and Professional Athletes were too honorable and honest to sell out like whores on the street corner.......

but the Walmart/Walton gang has bought every Pro sports team here in Denver, with the exception of the Rockies, and no one would want them. The Waltons are buying up Pro teams in other cities in the nation.........

They have no problem screwing their employees, but have SIX AND A HALF BILLION TO RECENTLY BUY THE BRONCOS.
(They already own the NBA Denver Nuggets, and the Colorado Avalanche, and either the professional Lacrosse or soccer team here in Denver......)

The simple reality, which no one realizes about the Professional and College Sports teams is that:
All the box seats and most of the seats in the sections down near the playing area......ARE ALL BOUGHT, FOR THE MOST PART, BY CORPORATIONS. AND ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE AS TRAVEL AND ENTERTAINMENT........The taxes the Corporations DON'T PAY,
We the commoners pay, so in effect the taxpayers are paying for those tickets for the execs and their guests....
And we still pay quite a bit for even the seats in the nose bleed section..........

Say you’re Foxborough. You require tons of money from FIFA and the US government to pay for security and other stuff. Neither has come through yet.

Many fans won’t be able to come. Others will refuse to. Same with the teams.

Trump’s administration promises players, coaches and team personnel will be granted special status to enter the country but nobody believes his promises. Put that together with FIFA’s corruption and incompetence, the Cup is shaping up to be a disaster.

If I was a host city elected official I’d worry about how voters will feel if the games turn out to be a failure, as they threaten to be. Foxbourough seems to be pretty skeptical. This can’t be reassuring news.

I am so tired of the scum sitting in our White House. They will have to fumigate and sterilize it when he and his “team” leave.
