(611 posts)It seems he has more of the basic qualifications for his post than most Trump nominees, at least for the NSA part of the dual-post including cyber command. I also have a fundamental mistrust of Trump nominees. This is an issue where Ill have to lean more on the knowledge and expertise of others here as my attempts at filling the large gaps in my knowledge about Rudd have fallen short.

None of the other 13 surprise me at all, especially the following 6:
Fetterman PA (of course)
and then
Shaheen (retiring) NH
Hassan NH
Cortez Masto NV
Rosen NV
Peters (retiring) MI
Those 6 have had the worst voting records for Dems in the Senate so far this Congress.
NOT ONE of the 18 YEAS is up for re-election in 2026 in a remotely close race, not one. Most are not even running in 2026.
Jon Ossoff, the only still-running Democratic Senator who has a close race this year voted NO.
