Should we start calling the MAGA base "Royalists"?

Or perhaps “Tories”?

Seems fitting, given the 250th anniversary of the ousting of our last King…

Wouldn’t it be delicious to hear Rep. Omar rise to speak, and say:

“Since my esteemed royalist colleagues are so fond of living under a monarch, might I suggest that they move back to England, where it seems they would clearly be more comfortable”.

I'd be ok with that in the ideological sense, except they are not very 'royal' Jack Valentino 13 hrs ago #1

Calling them "throwbacks" might do the trick ....

But really "fascists" is the closest to the truth.

Not to belittle them, but to use a descriptor that was an accurate reflection of their alignment to power, and more importantly, freedom and essential rights.

Fascist is indeed more accurate, but Royalist isn’t too far off the mark, and may even be more specific, at least while Trump is in power.

It’s also kind of disarming for the recipient; I mean, how would they argue back and refute the label?

The royalists of old believed in the Divine Right of kings to rule absolutely. Today's economic royalist believe in the Divine Right of money to rule absolutely.

Just call it what it is.

'Royalists' means little in this context and England doesn't want their sorry asses (I'm living here) - where does this stuff come from?

with Nigel Trump (aka Nigel Farage). They’re a problem for the US- let the US sort them out, thanks. Europe has plenty of its own fascists to manage.

whereas even the dumbest of them knows what being called a Nazi means.

Calling them Royalists would be very inaccurate and is far too tame a descriptor, imo.
