Medical Exploitation

The Mango Mussolini administration is seeking the unredacted full medical records of every single federal employee, current and retired, including members of Congress. I mean everything, full medical history, prescriptions, doctor's medical record notes, care summaries, everything. Not just once but mandatory monthly updates.

A brief notice from the Office of Personnel Management could dramatically change which personally identifiable medical information the agency obtains, giving it the power to see prescriptions employees had filled or what treatment they sought from doctors. The regulation would require 65 insurance companies that cover more than 8 million Americans — including federal workers, retired members of Congress, mail carriers, and their immediate family members — to provide monthly reports to OPM with identifiable health data on their members.

I cannot relate how unsettling this is a s how I would NEVER consent to give any employer, much less an administration like this one full, unredacted or redacted, access to my medical records.

This is one of the most absurd and disturbing requests from this administration yet and will Congress actually do anything about it other than send a sternly worded letter?

I informed the HR lady I would release any and all information related to any medical issues related to my L4 & L5 vertebrae. It however was none of her business whether I was Circumscised or not. They want to gather any and all information they might use now or in the future to control their bottom line.

From the google machine:

"HIPAA regulations (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) are federal standards protecting sensitive patient health information (PHI) from disclosure without consent. Covered entities—health plans, clearinghouses, and providers—must comply with the Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Breach Notification Rule to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security".
