'What is the Einstein visa? And how did Melania Trump get one?'

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-43256318

My words: Bold is mine

'Melania Trump obtained US citizenship on a visa reserved for immigrants with "extraordinary ability" and "sustained national and international acclaim", according to a report in the Washington Post. Nicknamed the "Einstein Visa", the EB-1 is in theory reserved for people who are highly acclaimed in their field...

To obtain an EB-1 for extraordinary ability, an immigrant has to provide evidence of a major award or meet three of 10 criteria proving excellence in their field. The criteria include coverage of the applicant in major publications, original and significant contributions to a field, and work displayed at artistic exhibitions...

"It's about getting testimonials from someone who is extraordinary in their own right and has some name recognition, but who can also attest to specific achievements of the applicant. And I'm sure she probably had some pretty significant letters, maybe from Donald Trump."

Melania was a sex worker who got a visa based on her rich and powerful clients.

He was joking that reporters have been agreeing with him privately but nobody wants to say it publicly. It really is true, though. Her presser the other day was jaw-dropping, apart from the Epstein content, because it was clear that she was really struggling even reading the English on the teleprompter. This woman is not even close to a fluent English speaker, and, in fact, her English (as miller correctly points out) has seemingly gotten even worse, which means she speaks it rarely. She's lived in the US for nearly 30 years!

Einstein visa my left foot. (That's an English language idiom, Melania: you're probably not familiar)

Now, I can see the incoming. What's wrong with not speaking English? Aren't you Libs the open borders celebrate divesity types Huh? Huh? Hypocrites! Yeah, no. There actually isn't anything wrong with moving to the US and never quite learning English. My own father spoke with a heavy accent his whole life, and often struggled in faster, more colloquial conversation. here's the thing:

He wasn't at the head of an aggressively nativist, anti-immigrant, assimilationist, reactionary social movement!

Melania Trump does not know how to speak English beyond maybe A2 level foreign language learner.

Someone who is fluent in English wrote the statement for her. But trivial isn't exactly a difficult word.

I know her mom died, but her dad is still alive. I assume she retained such a thick accent because she spent alot of time with her parents who didn't speak English. Anyway, her accent is pretty thick.

I really don't know why her English isn't better.

That has all changed of course, since Chump came in and ruined it for everyone.
