Reporter: Why did you attack Pope Leo?

Trump: I donât think heâs doing a very good job. He likes crime I guess. We donât like a pope who says itâs ok to have a nuclear weapon. We donât want a pope that says crime is ok. I am not a fan of Pope Leo.

Why should anyone listen to a fake person with abysmal numbers that appear to be tanking.

(24,297 posts)Crime was at generational lows under Joe Biden, really fell quickly and was at the lowest levels across the board since the 1950s. It appears 2025 saw a further reduction in crime. So expect to see Trump bragging soon.
Joe Biden did not brag enough, crime was plummeting under him and you barely heard it mentioned and when you brought it up you were met with disbelief and excuses. "Well, there's so much crime, people don't even bother to report it anymore..."
Crime goes down when the working class is doing well, and the working class saw big "real income" gains under Joe Biden. Incomes were going up higher than inflation, despite what you heard, the working class was getting ahead under Joe Biden. Savings were climbing, less people were struggling, and the lowest wage earners saw the biggest gains. The very bottom of the wage scale saw income growth far in excess of inflation even when it was at its worst. Covid and Biden's policies combined to raise the wages at the bottom from $10-12 to wash dishes or cook on a line to $16-17 most places or higher.
Trump's policies are absolutely decimating the working class right now. No jobs created for over a year is a bomb falling on working people's heads. So crime is going to spike and it will begin to spike soon. More people are struggling, more people will turn to crime to make ends meet, more people will turn to drugs and alcohol to ease their anxieties. So right now, you're going to see crime stats come out low, the lowest in 70 years, but that will change because it always does when Republican presidents crsh the working class.

Trump is the softest president on crime in my lifetime.
