(1,876 posts)each datacenter have solar covering the entire roof of the datacenter and at least 25% of all energy needs handled by solar fields to be constructed by the company building the datacenter.
I support tech and use a.i myself but the rich need to pay for the energy needs and that means building out energy infrastructure.
I like the idea of building solar fields over oceans with datacenters under the water...It makes quite a bit of sense.

(1,876 posts)All future datacenters could be built on massive floating rafts with the processor/graphic cards within the hollowed out raft. The roof of this raft would be covered in solar panels with compartments along the sides with batteries storing the power and transferring the power to the graphiccards/processors.
This way
1. It powers itsself
2. Its out of our way and away from our cities. No noise!
3. The ocean cools the data center.
It could be a mile long by 500 feet long. We could have hundreds of these.
