I was reading around yesterday, and it was noted that some counties only update their totals twice a week. After seeing that, it was like, ok, maybe I'll stop refreshing the election results webpage forty-five times a day . . .

You cannot have the final results until then by definition anyway. What difference would it make in anyone's life or choices to have incomplete results in the meantime?

Ignoring the threads is not an option apparently. I agree that we know what we're doing, we know a Dem will win, and we are interested in the process. Apparently that really irritates some people.

so it seemed to imply at least that it will happen on weekends. I think you're right about the five o'clock deadline, but if I recall some were released around four pacific time yesterday.

Candidate..........Votes..........Pct
Xavier Becerra.....1,811,803.....27.03%
Steve Hilton.....1,747,976.....26.08%
Tom Steyer.....1,430,443.....21.34%

Steyer has cut into Hilton's lead for 2nd place, but is still unlikely to overtake him.

Saw that there are new results for the LA Mayor Race with the progressive candidate making big gains. She has a good chance of surpassing Pratt.

I see Pratt is leading Raman by just over 1% and just over 7000 votes. Of course, I have no idea how many votes are still left to count. Hopefully Raman overtakes him. Pratt's unlikely to win in the general election if he makes it, but better to avoid that risk altogether. He'd be an absolute disaster for LA.
