I am over the moon: All 3 Mamdani-backed candidates projected to win NY primaries.

https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/nyc-congressional-primary-zohran-mamdani-endorsements/

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, in an effort to get more like-minded political allies in Washington, endorsed three left-of-center candidates in the congressional Democratic primaries covering the city, including two who were running against sitting congressmen. CBS News projected all three — Brad Lander, Claire Valdez and Darializa Avila Chevalier — will win their primaries.

Warning sign for establishment politicians

It was a major victory for Mamdani, a democratic socialist. When campaigning Tuesday, Mamdani said it was not a question of electing more Democrats, it was a question of electing "better Democrats." CBS News New York political reporter Marcia Kramer says that in effect, he was tapping into recent a poll finding that New York voters were fed up with politics as usual and were ready to clean house.

Half of the respondents in a poll by the Honan Strategy Group said they favored electing a new generation of younger, more progressive candidates willing to challenge the party establishment. Kramer says these victories are blaring warning sign for establishment politicians like Gov. Kathy Hochul and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. It means voters are tired of the dysfunction in Washington and the inability of Democrats to stand up to what some see as the excesses of the Trump administration.

It also means that some long-serving politicians — like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who has been in the Senate for 27 years — will have a target on his back when he is up for reelection in 2028. It could provide the impetus for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is projected to win her primary, to challenge Schumer if he decides to seek reelection.

Voters in New York have obviously seen that Mamdani takes action and gets results in a small amount of time! That shows that it CAN BE done. Happy to see that the voters of New York are realizing and understanding this.

We need a younger generation to step up! And I am older than dirt myself. It's nature and normal that the older step aside and the younger take the lead. The elders should always be available for counsel and consult, but the young need to take the reins.

It's way past time and I welcome it.

A serious new player, I’d say!

And right when we need bright new talent with great potential to establish, and then start taking over. Eager to see what they do!

I've voted about 96% since 1971.

I like Mayor Z. I'm in District 13.
But some of Darializa's posts I majorly disagreed with. And then besides that at the very end hearing she'd participated in the Palestinian demonstrations after Oct 7. Uh, no. Not good.

I support Israel's right to exist. I've never agreed w everything they've done as I've grown older.

Now, I've been disgusted w Netanyahu ever since he was in the crowds against Rabin. That goes waaay back. Doing a whole sale war in Gaza vs more surgical actions.Turning a blind eye to Westbank settlers running roughed over Palestinians's homes, olive trees etc. Terrible.

I wasn't able vote in the end bc I was (to me) mysteriously listed as inactive. I screwed up my voting place in 2025 so didn't nake it , but voted early in 2024. But she won. I'll vote for her. But I'll keep an eye on what she's saying/doing. I do hope she will do some good things.

Stein wannabes'. Stein was NOT a Democrat. She was and is a third party (Green Party) member. You are attacking Democratic party members who are now our Democratic primary winners. They are NOT Green Party candidates, which is what you are trying to tar and feather them as by calling them Jill Stein wannabes.
