You just can't make it up sometimes.. Trump refuses to sign a bi-partisan bill to stop speculators from buying up private homes to make them rental properties at a higher rate of rent than a house payment would be, unless congress first signs his voting bill.. yeah

(29,520 posts)When a senator agrees, "Yes, I'm not going to argue with that point" to this: "There hasn't been a fair primary for the Democrats since 2008. Are they not also a threat to democracy?"

(29,520 posts)The "Democratic establishment" hates him, "the hatred we faced." Talking about Democratic events: there are only a few hundred people, mostly "older, whiter, wealthier" attending, unlike his events: "The establishment did not want to open the door. They hated the idea that all the people's hands were a little bit dirty, didn't have PhDs or aren't wealthy [FDR brought in professors and economic advisors instead of businessmen, his "Brain Trust," and was a wealthy establishment elite so why is this a big insult?]. Imagine! Walking into my party! -- you ain't gettin' in there. Yes, we will fight you in the most ruthless ways we can."
I could quote for hours. This is not benign. People should listen. Listen to the podcast Flagrant from May last year, Trevor Noah's interview last October.
Myth that FDR was a democratic socialist by changing the meaning of "democratic socialism" to mean liberal Democratic New Deal policies of regulated capitalism, social safety net, infrastructure. This is still around, we see it here all the time.
(Yes, it's the person you mentioned but I get in trouble if I say the name, so I usually don't just in case. Not as if what I quote or say isn't true.)
