Saw this on Reddit.
My answer was when you treat the wait staff with respect.

(18,064 posts)It's important that people are able to put themselves in the shoes of others. We have too many people who either can't or won't do that.

Nonetheless, for her, I was the real deal. She was in love, and I could see it.
So, I knew she would always be good to me; always be nice.
Over time, I saw that she treated everyone this way! There were no exceptions.

(68 posts)Of course, that requires a definition of who is an asshole. Someone who is willing to lie, cheat, steal, kill, or do ANYTHING else to get what they want. For them, the ends always justify the means, e.g., a certain orange shit stain and everyone around him.

And that 'right thing'' isn't proscribed in any manual or religious literature but strangely, people seem to know intuitively what "the right thing" is.
