Man tied to wheelchair, left to die in Phoenix heat, police say

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two men are accused of tying up a man in a wheelchair and leaving him outside in extreme Phoenix heat, where he later died.

Phoenix police were called Thursday night to an area near 24th Street and Fawn Drive, just south of Baseline Road, after reports of trouble near a canal.

When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Aaron Goodyke dead in a wheelchair. Police said his hands and chest had been tied to the wheelchair with plastic bags.

After investigating, police arrested 41-year-old Hector Corrales on suspicion of kidnapping and first-degree murder.

Sounded like he refused medical treatment, so tied him to up to die in the heat? Shouldn't they have called 911?

I wonder if he really refused medical treatment? Said he became combative. Where did he become combative? In a car? In the hospital? I wonder if it's true.

in that "report". People see him tied with plastic bags, do nothing, go home, tell someone else?? WTAF.??? I know not everybody has cell phones, but I would have found somebody who did!

May all involved receive everything they deserve.

during the summer.

People collapse, particularly near bus stops.
During the summer, you cannot assume that they are just "sleeping."
Maybe they are, maybe they are dying. It happens A LOT in Phoenix in summer.

Our unhoused population is especially at risk.

But this, a man tied to a wheelchair?
How did this not ring alarm bells, immediately?

One of the reasons that I always have my cell phone with me is for the ability to summon aid, if need be, as I am rendering whatever assistance I can.

US man dies while discarding body of girlfriend he fatally strangled, officials say
Police found man, who died of a heart attack, next to his girlfriend by abandoned vehicle in wooded area of Alabama

A man recently died in Alabama from a heart attack while trying to discard his girlfriend’s body after fatally strangling her, according to authorities.

At the center of the unusually macabre case was Daniel Robbins, 44, and Jessica Folds, 47.

Chambers county sheriff’s deputies reportedly found Robbins and Folds dead next to each other on the morning of 10 June in a wooded area near an abandoned vehicle in the town of Lanett.
