The Scots loved Mexico and Mexicans; the Mexicans loved the Koreans and even enjoyed doing the Norwegian rowing cheer in the rain and the Brits and Scots think they discovered the best of American cuisine because they flavored Ranch dressing.

And, everyone wants a Mexican shirt. Adidas says it is the most sought after shirt of the games.

My husband was disappointed because he wanted Germany to win and in a huff he said, "That goalie is the whole team."

So, when it came down to PK's I said, remember what you said. If the goalie is the best player on the Paraguay team, then they've won this game.

And that's what happened.

We were deeply disappointed by their three losses. To make matters worse, they were scoreless.

They’re still my team.

We’ve fallen in love with the country, her people, the food, the climate and so much more.

My wife, who has a Masters in Archaeology, volunteered on a dig in the Cocle region and they found a burial site dating back 1,200 years with many intact artifacts including gold breast plates, arm bands and jewelry.

It’s a lovely country.

I’m a fortunate man.

We really love being in Panama. The cost of living is 30-40% less than in the U.S. The healthcare is excellent and very inexpensive. The seafood is fresh and delicious as are the fruits and vegetables. Since Panama is just north of the Equator, the days are mostly the same with the sun rising around 6:30 and setting about 18:30, (24-hour clocks and metric system measurements are used).

We got the place in case Trump went full fascist but we’ve fallen in love with the country.

and all the ICE threats.

I'm so happy that it's showing real Americans (US, Mexico, Canada) welcoming and appreciating all the teams and their fans. Despite our fcked up leadership in this country.

My son was at the US opener in LA and the Iran match. He said the fans were amazing. And I see Lawrence, KS loving on the Algerian team. And, of course, the Tartan Army.

Between this and the Obama Library opening, I have hope.

So Mexico has given them a rousing welcome.Claudia Sheinbaum said Mexico had no problem with them staying there.

and maybe some of their regular News Channel watchers will wander over and see for themselves that the South American teams aren't eating cats and dogs or the Iranians aren't wearing bomb vests. Who knows, they may even see this wonderful international gathering as something good and inspiring. They may even have fun.

Likewise I've heard that many folks who've come here from all over the world have been pleasantly surprised at the warm welcomes they've received (in spite of all Trump's efforts to divide and spoil it).

I think this World Cup has been a terrific thing, where people can see each other as fellow humans. Familiarity vanquishes fears and breeds togetherness.
