I received a Trump propaganda email from the Social Security Administration.

According to the message, I received $7,500 in "relief" this year, wait times are down 30%, phone calls are answered 75% faster, and American seniors are winning.

Every one of those claims are total bullshit. It's going to take a few hours for my blood pressure to drop.

Given all the staffing cuts, I was very much expecting various difficulties and bureaucratic hurdles.

Surprisingly, the process was remarkably smooth. Zero problems.

Within weeks, I received the official confirmation letter. My first check is coming imminently.

I can't speak to wait times for phone service. My case was simple and straightforward. Perhaps those with complex circumstances are more likely to face Trump-induced problems.

and I'm not seeing it. My check didn't go up and if my taxes went down, it's not showing up in my bank account.

I'm relatively new to Social Security. This is my second year so I don't have much history.
