It's 100 degrees outside here in northern NJ. Likely higher due to the humidity.

My air conditioner (one room) may well be keeping me from heat stroke.

My concern is a power outage/black-out at this time.

My larger concern is that the grid for this area is insufficient for everyone with an AC unit or more.

My even larger concern is that if there's an AI center built that depends upon the grid, the AI center gets first dibs on the power. What will happen to the rest of us who depend on power to literally stay alive if heat waves are more frequent and of higher temperatures? (I know, I know. It's a rhetorical statement, not an interrogatory.)

There’s actually a wind chill if you put on a wet shirt, step outside into the wind but start in the shade

Adds an additional later of distress for people. I'm A Councilwoman in my tiny Borough. We have cooling centers. Our PD also has opened up a front room for our very tiny handful of homeless residents to stay the next few days. Technically they are transient - but this isn't a situation for semantics. Just help people.
