After the Citizens United ruling that took the funding of elections out of the hands of We the People and turned it over to they the corporations, Republicans chose our home state of Wisconsin to be the test grounds for how to turn unlimited spending into unlimited Republican victories.
Republicans learned things. And watching them, we learned things. Pretty much everything we learned is in these America 27 boxes.
Ultimately Republicans learned that what unlimited spending does best is free them from having to live in a world of truth. Unlimited spending unlocks the door to repeating lies so often people begin to believe them. After Citizens United, Republicans got very-very good at lying.
Ultimately we learned people who know they are lying and who get paid unlimited sums of money to lie don’t stop lying because someone smiles at them. So we asked our customers to call out their lies. It was then we got a glimpse of the true power of Cooks. And whoosh.
As a Cook you may think no one is noticing when you give of yourself to care for others, but people notice and they respect you, too. You speaking out about Republican lies ends their lies. It’s that simple.
In our backyard over two election cycles the vote went from +5 Republicans to +40 Democrats. It was the largest shift in the nation. It was the people here who did the work, not us. We just helped amplify what they were already doing and helped their efforts reverberate more.
