About the Facts and Logic flame group that brings the truth about Israel and the Middle East conflict to us.

Here are some things the president James Sinkinson has said.

"while Islamophobia is a relatively new phenomenon, much less frequent and so weaponized that some consider the very concept a hoax."

"Islamophobia is a relatively new concept, which critics convincingly argue is generally not a hatred at all, but rather a term used by social, political and media elites to whitewash the avowed intentions of Islamists to wage jihad globally."

https://www.clevelandjewishnews.com/jns/exposing-the-islamophobia-hoax/article_cbfce58a-41f4-5075-9f5b-17626aac08e3.html

Here he completely whitewashes Itamar Ben-Gvir who
"has a long history of anti-Arab activism, leading to dozens of indictments and at least eight convictions of crimes including incitement to racism and support for, as well as possession of propaganda of, a terrorist organization"

"is known for being a provocateur and has attracted headlines for a variety of reasons: threatening Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin on live television in 1995 shortly before his assassination; having had a portrait in his living room of Baruch Goldstein, a Jewish terrorist and mass murderer; calling in 2019 for the expulsion of Arab citizens of Israel who are not loyal to the state;[5] inciting violent clashes between Jewish settlers and Palestinians in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah in 2021; and making highly controversial visits to the Temple Mount, where the al-Aqsa Mosque is located, in 2023 and 2024.[6]"

"In the 1990s, he was active in protests against the Oslo Accords. In 1995, Ben-Gvir came to public attention for the first time, when he appeared on television brandishing a Cadillac hood ornament that had been stolen from Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's car, and declared: "We got to his car, and we'll get to him too." Several weeks later, Rabin was assassinated by right-wing extremist Yigal Amir.[4][18]"

with statements like
"far-right Religious National Party, one of whose leaders is the outspoken attorney-politician Itamar Ben-Gvir."

Ah, he is an outspoken attorney-politician.
And
"Menendez’s warning was echoed by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), who urged Israeli politicians to “ostracize extremists like Itamar Ben-Gvir.” Neither Sherman nor Menendez specified any Ben-Gvir views to which they object."

I mean, with someone with a track record like that do they have to specify any Ben-Gvir views to which they object? I guess you have to the Facts and Logic flame group since they dont seem to know the ,,,, facts very much.
"He has a reputation for making statements against Israeli Arabs — such as suggesting the deportation of those who attack Israeli soldiers, a proposal some consider racist."

Uh, in 2019 he called for the expulsion of Arab citizens of Israel who are not loyal to the state. That's pretty darn fascist if you ask me and quite a bit different than deporting those who attacked Israel soldiers.

"On the other hand, Ben-Gvir swears he is not racist — that indeed he is an anti-racist, fighting antisemitic instigation within the boundaries of Israel’s “homeland” by the likes of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, with the aim of defeating them “just as the United States defeated Al-Qaeda.”"

Sure, he is not racist.

I'm sure I could find more snippets posted on twitter or reddit to share with you all but I believe the words of the President of the Facts and Logic flame group "should" be enough to make you wary of such a site. "Should".
But what do I know.

Facts and Logic About the Middle East (FLAME) is a non-profit pro-Israel organization based in San Francisco, California. The Los Angeles Times described FLAME as "an organization that must literally buy its way into print." Their ads, they state, are meant as an explanation for "the proverbial man from Mars" regarding various aspects of Arab/Israeli issues.

History

It was founded by Gerardo Joffe and began as a local chapter of the pro-Israel media watchdog group CAMERA. By 1987 the ads, which had appeared using the CAMERA name were now sponsored by FLAME, an independent organization. Its stated purpose is "the research and publication of the facts regarding developments in the Middle East and exposing false propaganda that might harm the interests of the United States and its allies in that area of the world."

Since 1987, it has regularly placed ads that it describes as "monthly hasbarah (educating and clarifying) messages in major publications of general circulation, such as U.S. News and World Report, The New York Times, The Nation, The National Review, The American Spectator, The Washington Times National Weekly, and others". The New York Times' Anthony Lewis described one such advertisement as "a sorry evasion of reality".

According to The Village Voice, when a reporter "pointed out the overt bigotry" in a FLAME ad in 1998 that described Islam as "virulent" and blamed it for promoting violence against the U.S. and Israel, FLAME's Gerardo Joffe said "All Arab Muslims may not be a bunch of fanatics, but I've never met one who isn't". Regarding the issue of a Palestinian state, FLAME is in favor of using Jordan as the homeland for Arab Palestinians.

Inverting and Evading truth and logic is foundational to the Israeli art of hasbara and I-E-FLAME does an "excellent" job of that.

A "sorry evasion of reality" is as razor-sharp description of I-FLAME's hasbara ads as I've ever read (Anthony Lewis, NYT).

In case anyone "flames" me again for using term hasbara, please note that I-FLAME proudly declares its ads hasbara, helpfully explaining that it means "educating and clarifying".

The type of educating and clarifying used in Israeli schools, no doubt - but it's Palestinians that teach their children to hate, right (more hasbara)?

Given the well-funded barrage of the Israeli narrative in the form of "hasbara" for decades - is it any wonder that Americans and Westerners in general are so ignorant of the Palestinian perspective?

It was hard to get through, but I looked at the second-most recent Ad # 191 (Wow, that's a lot of "ads" circulated in major publications). The "logic and facts" appear as follows:
- PROVE intent to "murder and displace" - yes, they assume we are that stupid, because of course intent has to be nothing short of a written declaration of "I/we intend to murder and displace Palestinians" and not the cumulative effect of multiple statements by Israeli officials amounting to exactly that

- Hamas started it!

- Show me evidence that Israel is intentionally targeting civilians, because various UN and NGO reports, including the recent one finding that Israel was intentionally targeting CHILDREN, is not good enough, nor is the evidence of your own eyes. Besides, we send out flyers and make calls/texts before bombing kids, because a 10-minute warning for a neighbourhood is good enough and because everyone in Gaza has access to a phone or computer even during intentional blackouts, and we stopped giving warnings as soon as we established the deniability aspect of our hasbara. Ugh

- No other army in modern history! has facilitated the entry of food and medicine to feed enemy civilians like Israel has. Can't even bother with this one... Sad.

- Look at the ratio of fighter to civilian deaths, because we assume every male killed under the age of 60 is a Hamas fighter. Or, if we include children over the age of 12 in the "fighter" category, the ratio is even better!

- Look at how the Arabs have multiplied since 1948! Yes, they actually use natural population growth over 76 years and a higher birth rate as a rationale for rebutting claims of genocide in Gaza in the last two years. Really. Then they add in that in Gaza, despite the war, the population has actually increased! Because births should stop entirely during a genocide?

Lots more but enough. I noted also the lack of citations for questionable or downright false facts, the cherry-picking and omissions. Evasions and inversions...

It's enough to make you laugh if it weren't so destructive, dangerous and so sad.
