... This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect until 9 PM this evening.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 PM this evening. Numerous severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, all capable of producing damaging wind gusts. A few of these storms could contain wind gusts to 75 mph, resulting in significant damage. A few instances of large hail are also possible in the strongest storms.

Heavy downpours from thunderstorms may lead to an isolated flash flood threat in urban areas ...


... Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 75. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms ...
